Altered Systems
We are building robots to sort, grade, and process used, raw textiles at scale. The U.S. textile recycling industry process billions of pounds of clothing annually, but relies on manual labor for the hardest part: picking and grading garments. We are building robotic systems that can handle soft-body manipulation and visual grading at a fraction of the cost of human labor. Textile recycling is our starting point. The long-term vision is to bring this technology to any industry where humans are still handling apparel by hand, from reverse logistics to second-hand marketplaces.
